SHARPS / DRESSMAKER – Pack of 20 assorted in size range 5/10
Sharps needles are known as the basic ‘general purpose’ needles for hand sewing and dressmaking. They have a fine sharp point and a large round elongated eye. They are classed as medium length – which is typically between 35mm and 40mm long
EMBROIDERY / CREWEL – Pack of 16 in size range 3/9 or Pack of 16 in size range 5/10
Embroidery needles (also known as Crewel) tend to have a longer eye to enable easier threading of multiple embroidery threads and thicker yarns.

NEEDLE SIZE GUIDE
As a general guide, needle sizing is referred to by its wire gauge number. The lower the number the thicker the needle, for example, a pack of 3/9 would be an assortment of needles ranging between size 3 and 9. A pack of size 8 would be all needles in the pack the same = size 8. Size 8 is quite a thin diameter needle compared to a size 3
